Best Pharmacology Book For USMLE Step 1

In this thread we vote for the Best Pharmacology Review Book for the USMLE step 1.
Unlike the best comprehensive review books for USMLE Step 1, you can choose only one option here as it's unlikely you relied on more than one book in your preparation.

It's different where I come from!

Three winners of this poll VIZ Katzung's, Lippincott's, and Boards and Wards are not even mentioned in our university.
The most popular ones here in my area are the Rapid Review and the BRS :toosad:

Hi guys!

Has anyone tried the Kaplan Medical USMLE Pharmacology and Treatment Flash Cards?
The flash cards in the poll seem to be from brenner and from Lange, I didn't find the Kaplan ones...
I'd be happy about reports- are they good? It says on amazon they are for step 1, 2, and 3. They are very new (May, 2011) - what do you guys think?

I did not use the latest edition, I used the edition before.
Man, they were awesome, they make you like pharmacology! But you should not use them alone, like you should read some book with them.

thank you! What book did you use with them? I am thinking about Katzung & Trevors Pharmacology plus the Kaplan flashcards - what do you think of that?
It's kinda hard for me to choose books just from amazon because you can't really get a sense of the book online...

How much time...

To get over Lippincott's pharmacology (cover to cover)??? I'm reading it right now... I think that is fantastic... but a little big. Any experience on how to read it?:confused:

Katzung

In my opinion, Katzung is the best pharmacology review book. I read lippincot for 1 year when i was in fourth year med so i can make the comparison. The book is thick but the chapters aren't long, and there is emphasis on high yield facts. Plus the post chapter and comprehensive exams are good. Just my 2 cents :)

in first aid lippincott is mentioned as one of the most standard books of all.

i think kaplan notes along with FA is enough, but lippincott can be used for refrence for high yield topics

Hello guys, i have katzung&Trevor Pharmacology's 10th edition but now they've released 11th. Do you recommend to start 10th?
And lastly, which one is betteraccording to your experiences: Katzung or Kaplan?
