it all comes down to your pocket

I would normally agree that online courses are enough but I like those books with the 35 cases you are most likely to see etc.. Usually they have good higy yield facts, more money, higher grades i guess...aahh the smell of capitalism

Here is a very helpful book called: USMLE Step 2 CS For The IMG, Here is the amazon.com link

Also another book not listed here is: Kaplan Medical USMLE Step 2 Clinical Skills Fourth Edition
This one is different from: Kaplan Medical USMLE Step 2 CS: Complex Cases: 35 Cases You Are Likely to See on the Exam (Kaplan USMLE) And here is the Amazon link

I think both books and The USMLE WORLD with practicing is more than enough

FIRST AID I find that book not helpful and confusing.

Thanks.

I would like to recommend Jaypee's Video Atlas of USMLE Step 2 CS Cases & Tips.

This is a set of two dvd's which contains
- Booklet with CIS checklist and tips to pass the exam
- Two DVD's with 8 full length clinical encounters
- Discussion following each case

some material recommendations...

Material To Skip: Some material that you can easily skip are 1) Step 2 CS Clinical Skills Review, and 2) Jaypees. Both of them are a joke, especially Jaypees - nothing about that dvd is helpful. The Step 2 CS Clinical Skills Review is pretty useless, but if anything, it was funny. I will try to at least finish watching the new videos.

Material that May Be Skipped: The material that I think can be skipped are minicases/sample cases/differential diagnose lists. Most of this stuff is learnt when studying for other exams so I dont think it needs to be repeated for CS.

Main Material:
Practicing USMLE World and First Aid practice cases seem to be helpful and USMLE Step 2CS Core Cases explains a lot of solutions to specific scenarios (e.g., difficult questions, patient has difficulty laying down) that may occur on the exam.

Extra Material:
Two osces books (clinical skills for the osces, the unofficial guide to passing the osces) add a detail here and there that can be helpful, however they are not needed for the exam. The university of virginia physical exam modules (http://www.med-ed.virginia.edu/courses/pom1/videos/) provides many videos that can help you review physical examination techniques.

kaplan step 2cs core cases and first aid for step 2 cs have been helpful, but Jaypees dvd is utterly useless. do not buy it, and if you have it i dont recommend that you even watch it.
