A 55-year old woman undergoes surgery for a stage II invasive ductal carcinoma. The mass is removed, with the specimen showing negative margins and no lymph node involvement. ya correct answer is B. Estrogen and progesterone receptors..as immunogenicity is limited to nucleus only...:)

can anyone tell me what does immunoreactivity limited to the nucleus mean?

Hey it means that when the pathologist makes an immunostain with special markers for the receptors he is looking for, the stain is just on the nucleus and not on the cell surface. Does this help u?

yea thanks alot

i thought HER-2 affect the nucleus too but it seems to be a tyrosine kinase receptor ..isnt it?
