Hi ... I have my exam yesterday and wanted to write my experience but was not sure if it would be helpful as my studying was not up to the mark and my exam was not good at all.
Anyway I had to take the exam as I had no option for personal reasons but I will surely tell you how it was .
My prep started with first Uworld 56 percent ... I just did this once before I read MTb 2 .
Then I gave nbme 4 - 193 failed
Then I read mtb 2 for 1 month
and gave nbme 6 - 214 passed( 2 weeks before exam )
Then gave uwsa -216 ( 7 days before exam )
Fred -78 percent (1 day before exam)
Then was reviewing uworld before exam.
Exam: it was tough for me and I realized I needed to revise my work once more but I didn't have time. I had a deadline to take the exam for personal reasons.
There was a lot of psychiatry , neurology and obgyn .
There were abstracts and drug adds in each block . I had 2 questions in each block and left it for the end and guessed them as the were fathomless !! There were a few easy biostat questions about 2-3 which were easy PPV calculation and Cutoffs high and low.
They ask everything possible in those 8 hours ... You cannot skip any topic ... It's Global.
I think that if I would have revised uworld once more I could have said I might pass... But I seriously have a very bad feeling and I am pretty sure I might fail.
Tips for the exam are uworld twice and mtb2 and 3 twice and make sure that your uwsa score is high as nbme are a bit easy compared to the exam and uwsa is closest to the exam except that the actual exam has longer question stems than uwsa. TIME is very inadequate and kills you. I felt like crying in the exam after 4 blocks and felt defeated by the exam ... But I prayed to God and moved on just ticking the answers reflexly as I had no time to think .
Anyway after I got out I just pray to pass ...scoring is not in my prayers any more.
I don't think my experience will help anybody that's why I didn't feel like posting it.
Hope all of you study well and revise and revise to act reflexly in the exam . Do well and my best wishes with all of you . God bless !
My step 1 score is 228. CS pass first attempt .
Will let you know if I pass :(

Forgot to mention I retook nbme 4 after nbme 6. I had not gone through the questions at all after I failed it as I wanted to retake it and know exactly where I stand... But for some reason I scored a bit high in it.... 228 but I didn't trust it as uwsa was more close to my nbme 6 . (214 and 216 ).

Thank you all for your good wishes... Just praying now.
Tamta... Yes unfortunately there is an add or abstract in all most all blocks... I had a block where I had a drug add with continuous 3 options to solve one after another... So I lost 3 questions totally as I found it hard to understand and answer.
Doing uworld 2 Nd time is a very good idea ... As you don't loose too much time thinking . Revisions are a must... It's too fast paced to waste time thinking .Hope this helps.

Yes i am already prepared to a race where no time for thinking. And it makes me really scared. Cause sometimes a little thinking may help at least for some questions. Thanks! :plz: for your score

I got 218 !! my uwsa was very predictive. :plz:
I want to thank all of you who have been supportive and prayed for me. These 3 weeks have been so stressful and i have prayed like i have never before and my faith in God has strengthened even more. It is simply by the GRACE OF GOD i passed !!!

I had to take the exam earlier even though i was not prepared well as I had 2 interviews linded up and i cud not have attended them without appearing for CK.
I have struggled with 2 kids to take these exams and i am now finally ecfmg certified. My parents prayed and supported me and my husband was my pillar of strength .
My interviews went very well and now i am ready for the match !!
THANK YOU GOD FOR ALL YOUR BLESSINGS !!Happy-2

All of those struggling there …I just have one message …Hang in there..keep pushing hard…..there may be a delay…but there will never be a denial !!!
God Bless all and may all of you become wonderful doctors and serve the humanity !!
