Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation (DIC)

D for delivery and specially abrubtio placentae where the placenta acts as a tissue factor activating the cascade

I for infections and specially gram negative spesis where the TNF activates thrombosis

C for cancers where for example Auer rods (particularly M3 AML) activates the clotting factors or the mucins of adenocarcinoma like that of the prostate or pancreas

This mnemonic I heard from Dr. Lionel Raymon in Kaplan qbank
