Penicillins and Cephalosporins are Cell Wall Inhibitors so are effective against Gram Postive bacteria...

Vancomycin is also a cell wall inhibitor so active against gram + but not against gram -

Then how come penicillin is the DOC in Meningococcemia and extended spectrum penicillins work against Gram negative organisms when Vancomycin does not ?

Don't mix penicillins with vancomycin they both are Inhibitors of cell wall synthesis but they have different structure and mechanism of action.
Vancomycin is not active against gram (-). Penicillin not only effective in Gram(+) it also effective against some Gram (-) for example against famous Neisseria :)
I think you will remember this picture long time ;) (btw her sister or brother causes the meningococcemia)
