[Hope2Pass]

This is a CT Image of Chest at the level of T6. The orientation of the image is so that the anterior is on top, posterior is bottom, left (of the patient) is on the right side of the image and the right (of the patient) is on the left side of the image.

This orientation is confusing me so can someone please explain the general orientation of the CT Images !!!

Also, feel free to label the image with the parts corresponding to the lines.

Ok so the way I try to get thru these scans is by doing this:
Imagine you see the patient lying down and taking the CT scan.. you are standing at the patient's feet. That way, upper thorax is up, back is down, at your feet: his rt is side is your left and his left side is your right.

Now for the labeling:
starting at 11 0'clock:
rt atrium
rt ventricle
lt ventricle
lt artrium
behind the LA is the Aorta
next to Aorta, I believe may be the Azygous vein (at 6 0'clock)
then the spinal cord
then T6 vertebra (ending at 7 o'clock)

let me know if any of this is wrong.

Wow, Thanks, putting it in that perspective makes so much more sense now! And you got all the labels right except for Azygous vein; thats supposed to be Esophagus! But hey, good luck for your exam, you really know your stuff! And thanks for making this so easy for me now lol Yay
