why chronic granulomatous disease only causes catalase positive bacteria infection? I thought no matter CGD or normal, catalase positive could always survive under H2O2.... I've read some reference in merck and wiki but unsatisfied.
Anybody knows the mechanism? Thanks so much.

as CGD is a defiency of nadph oxidase so ....body cant produce its own h2o2

bcoz of that mpo cant make "hocl" to kill bacteria

now if catlase -ive bacteria are phagosytized cell would use their h2o2 formed to make hocl and kill the same bacteria

but


in cat +ive in , they break down their own h202 plus body cant form its won h202 by nadph oxidase ........so their is no substrare left for mpo to work on and make hocl to kill bacteria
