In first aid 2010 page 401 neurology ( circle of willis )

they write

posterior communicating artery common area of aneurysm

anterior communicating artery most common site of circle of
willis aneurysm

is this mean the commonest area of aneurysm is anterior communicating artery.??

and what the origin of both ( from where they arise) ???

from kaplan class :
commonest is from anterior communicating artery. make sure you know where this is!! and relations to it.Second most is posterior communicating artery
RR Path (p.597) agrees - within the Circle of Willis. Figure 28-19 in Robbin's Pathology zooms out a little:

Most frequent site of occurrence of cerebral aneurysms is in the anterior communicating artery, which is part of the circle of Willis. The next most common sites of cerebral aneurysm occurrence are in the internal carotid artery at the level of the posterior communicating artery, and at the internal carotid artery terminus.
