Hey guys,

Please help me clarify this:

Does Conn's syndrome cause metabolic acidosis or alkalosis?

In my understanding, it causes metabolic alkalosis and Addison's causes metabolic acidosis. It's because if you get excess aldosterone, you'll retain sodium and lose potassium and hydrogen, and vice versa. But why on FA pg 517, it is stated that Conn's syndrome causes metabolic acidosis? Even doctors-in-training.com also says so. Am I getting my concept wrongly?

Thank you.

Another error in FA 2010

Yes hyperaldosteronism causes metabolic alkalosis. If you see the main topic on Page 290, here it is correctly mentioned that it causes metabolic alkalosis.

hmm..... i wonder even after two versions of errata. They still missed it !!!

Thanks @studyhard for pointing this out
