Ok let's start a thread that help us all choose the appropriate terms and language to use when talking to SPs in USMLE Step 2 CS exam.

sputum or phlegm

should we say sputum or phlegm or saliva! which is more understandable to SPs?

Should we say stool or feces! which is more understandable to SPs?
drape or sheet

which is better
May I put the drape on your legs
or
May I put the sheet on your legs

This reminds me of a friend who used the word **** :p and some other inappropriate words and he effectively failed the CS.
I think stool and feces are both appropriate.

Use drape. It's more professional.

Use phlegm as they likely do not know what's sputum, but make sure to pronounce it as 'flem'

tummy or belly

should we say tummy or belly when we indicate the abdomen to the SP?

Best understandable and suitable word would be stomach, neither belly nor tummy.
Tummy is more for kids
Belly is more for the abdominal fat.

Uterus or Womb

should we say uterus or womb?
Uterus VS Womb

I believe womb is a more common name.
Uterus is a more medical name.
