I have a question here. I have been reading a lot about being fresh graduate. What is a fresh graduate. 1 year since graduation, 3 years, 5 years????? What fresh exactly means?????? I graduate in 2009, is that fresh?????? I'm hoping on getting match for residency in 2012. I'm going to be fresh graduate by that time??????:confused::confused:

I have the same question and I want to know if the month of graduation is considered too? I mean would it make any difference if for example u graduate in FEB 2009 or DEC 2009? because I have graduated in DEC 2009...

Attendings working in the US have been telling me that the preferable range is less than 5 years from graduation; the earlier the better. Also, CV gaps are frowned upon. They'll ask you what were you doing all that time?

I think the timing will be the period between the year of graduation and the time you apply for the match.
