Hello,

I sent my papers to the ECFMG in late December, and they contacted my med school in mid January. Everything went fine as my school is one of the ones that has the online access and they confirmed everything right away and I got my scheduling permit and already scheduled my step 1 test.

Nevertheless, the OASIS page still says "medical education credentials received but verification still pending" - what does this mean? I mean, I got my scheduling permit so everything should be fine, right?

Any help is really appreciated.

Thanks!

Reasons why:

Since you have the scheduling permit, then you have no problem in taking the exam.

Your status is still pending could be due to several factors:

- ECFMG delay, sometimes they take up to two months to do it.
- Your medical school EMSWP account is having problem or they did not send the appropriate documents.
- There are some issues in your Diploma or Transcript that need to be addressed.

As you can see there's nothing you can do to the first reason but for the two other reasons, I suggest you call ECFMG and ask them what's wrong.

If they don't give you a satisfying answer on the phone, call again the next day, a different agent can sometimes solve the problem.

When you get the information please post it back here in this thread so that others benefit from your experience.

Update

Hello.
So I called ECFMG and they told me that, although everything was confirmed online by my medical school, they had not sent the papers back yet... So, it's a 2 step process (one online, and the second is the actual papers). Anyway, I contacted my school and they've already sent everything back, it should be on its way, that is, a paper that the ECFMG sent them, my verified copy of the medical diploma and a copy of my medical transcripts.
I hope this helps if anybody else should ever have the problem!
