Hello to my fellow members,

I started with UW and its been 5 days today. My scores have been around 41-50% range for last 5 days. However, for last 2 days i took a 10 minute break after one block of 46 questions and then attempted another block with 23 questions. The 2nd block has invariably gotten me scores below 40% and this isn't making me happy. I know UW is a learning tool and not assessment tool but something must be amiss when my scores have such a trend even though it may be too early to read into it.

Also, i tried writing down answers on the first day and suffice it to say that my fingers were spasmodic at the end and no energy left for me to revise from KLN or FA. Could someone please tell me any other effective way of learning from UW?

Thanks in advance.

Do not do that common mistake

Starting out with USMLE World is always like that. Give yourself sometime before your percentage starts to even out.

Also, there is a common myth among students which I see that you are doing. DO NOT WRITE all UW exaplanations! there's no need for that, you already learned that from KLN and FA ...

Here's what you should do
finish the block, then read the explanation of each question one by one, for each question go back to your KLN or FA and review it, if there's extra info in the UW explanation then you add that info to your KLN or FA page and then move on to the next question.

With time, you'll see that there are less and less (new info) in UW and you'll see that you already learned and know what they are talking about and therefore you will start finishing block faster until you reach a point where you can do two-three blocks per day (few weeks before your exam).
