I am thinking of writing step1 in august. Can i send the filled application to ECFMG for processing now or should i wait till the eligibility period? thanks in advance.

But my advice would be to send it after your fully prepared, coz once your eligibility period starts, u cant change it.

I am thinking of applying for august-september-october eligibility period. So if i apply now, will i get that eligibility period or the earlier period?

once u finish FA and U world throughly start your application process - which might take 2-3 weeks if u are sending in papers to your Med school .... during which u can give mock tests and revise again ....

when u start your application , it asks u which eligibility period u would like ... so u can select whatever u want


Before all this go to your Prometric site and check for availability of slots , If plenty available do the above , if not finish the paper work fast so that u can book the desired slot
