How should we extend the eligibility period
Should I cancel the exam date which I have taken in my original eligibility period and then apply for extension of eligibility for next 3 months
What is the deadline for extension
I am confused with the procedure. Please someone explain the steps of the process :sorry:

Thanks

you should first cancel your prometric date.

then you log into your ECFMG account, and there will be an option to extend the eligibility period . You can extend it only once and you have to pay a fee. It was 50$ till last year.

Once you extend your eligibility period you will be sent a new scheduling permit in the next 2 weeks...once you get your scheduling permit you can reschedule your exam with prometric.

I believe that if you cancel and reschedule with a new permit prometric doesnot charge a fee. but if you just postpone the date of the exam within 30 days of the original date or reschedule the date with the same permit, Prometric also charges a fee of 50$ for rescheduling.

Your request should be within 20 days of the first month of your new eligibility period.
