I know this is gonna sound like a dumb question but I was just going over genetics again and realized that I didn't pay too much attention to familial vs sporadic cases and graphs (seems like rote memorization)....I was wondering how important is that? (since FA doesn't even have it)

ummm, i would think more low yield than anything...

when it comes to genetics, focus on Blots, Pathology dx's that are genetic, and focus on karyotypes graphs... that makes up the bulk of the genetic portion of your usmle examination.

Oh yeah, and make sure you know how to use the hardy wienberg equation.. or how ever its spelled... q2 + 2PQ + p2... tht formula
