Hello again good ppl,

I'm doing path from goljan RR3 for the step 1  I've heard a lot of ppl say that its overkill but some even stress that its important to get through it. As I go through RR3 and goljan audios theres a lot of things (obviously) that he doesn't mention that are in the RR3! is that because they are not high Yield or is it because RR3 just came out after his "audio lectures"...and if so, anybody who has gone through RR3 could you guide me through of what things are Absolutely "DO NOT MISS" in goljan....even if you just list general path topics or systemic path topics....:sorry:

again this is a thread without a 1 word answer, but any help would be appreciated, thanks again guys, you guys have turned into my personal USMLE support group

Good luck, Study hard and try to stay sane

The Goligan audio is fairly old. at least 5 years old, probably more.
RR3 came out after, so its not going to be the same

go through the audio, take notes or write it down in your first aid book to revisit.

Best question book to review for pathology that looks like exam questions, or the toughness of it would be : Review of Pathology by Robbins and Cotran 2nd edition or later.

if you can get 65-70% right in this book, you will have no problem with pathology.

Yeah I believe the audios were made in 2002 and there havent been any other audios since then. But its good for basic foundation in path. He integrates quite nicely. I have listened to a few of them and am planning to finish them soon.

I was also planning on getting pathoma since a lot of ppl say its the best source for Pathology and since its $100 for 1 whole year of online subscription plus the book, I think its worth the money. :)

Pathoma is a rip-off of Goljan.

Goljan is the best, not for the basic stuff but for highly integrated pathology

I haven't tried out Pathoma yet :)) But I guess I'll find out once I try it out. I mean in the end, everyone is going to cover the same material - kaplan, fa, dit, goljan and pathoma .. but its the way they teach you. With goljan the audios are great! There are a few things that are old and have been changed now. However, with pathoma you get the book to go along with and its 35 hours of videos which is more easy to focus on rather than listening to audios and follow along. But it depends on each individual. I guess you have to try it out for yourself and see what you like better.

I did Goljan twice, but the second edition. Very good and has helped me not only in filling some gaps, but in solving problems. There are important tips, like the tables on endocrinology and kidneys, very good ones. Anemia table, very good one.
Any way, go through it, very thoroughly, i know its time consuming, but when you finish it you´ll see the difference.
Be patience, think that every letter you read, every word you read, you are going forward, even if you have to go back in the book, you are still going forward, there is no other way you can go, only forward. :D
Good luck!
