hi there

Seethal and other helpful guys of the forum pls help me been waiting for ur reply
:) dont worry 6 months is plenty of time. n 7 hrs a day is brilliant. this is what u do:

First read through the Kaplan notes (but not so slow, just enough to understand n remember) then attempt the questions at the back by referring back to the notes (that's well... 2 times kaplan reading, because when u refer back to the notes for answers, u are memorizing this time). with 7 hrs a day u should be able to finish 2 subjects each month (with spare time to do the Kaplan Qbook at the end of each subject. I even had time (1 week each month) to make flashcards on the computer, but u obviously can use that time for online Qbank.

If u study continuously u might get bored or start to slow down, so I suggest that after 2 months n going through at least 4 subjects, u should attempt one Qbank or try some Qbooks (FA QandA or LANGE QandA) that should be available at ur local medical bookstore.

Then go back n finish up the last Kaplan subjects. now u will have 3 months ++ before ur exam in which time u can do some of the Kaplan videos (esp behavioral science, physiology, biochemistry n pathology). Keep in mind many have said that doing Kaplan for pathology alone is not enough. So since u will have that 3 months, spend one month doing videos (which will be the 3rd time u repeat ur kaplan notes) n definitely read up Goljan pathology rapid review (I have read a little n its VERY informative).

You see 6 months continuous without any disturbances is great time. I spent 10 months but I had exams in between which left me with 8 months. n since I plan to finish everything 2 months prior to my exams, I will have full 2 months for online Qbanks (instead of the usual 1 month to 2 weeks which most people use).

I remember a forum member saying that their friend spent only 4 months studying and scored a 99. I guess here what matters most is how much u remembered from med school to begin with. also prolonging ur exam too much (spending too much time) might make u lazy n u will tend to forget stuff.

You can do it don't worry!! :) (just pick up the pace a little.. :p one month for 2 subjects.. write down the number of topics u have to cover everyday in ur timetable n FOLLOW through ur timetable without fail). Every evening before sleeping or when u are resting, tune in to the forum n answer some questions posed by members. This will help u understand some new concepts n how everyone else is understanding their material.

Well that was my suggestion, but am no pro.. I still haven't taken the exam n I hope I get through this time good as well.
