I've read over first aid once now and was wondering if I should just try to reread first aid (which took me 15 days first time) or listen to doctor in training?

In DIT; doesn't the guy add a lot of stuff to first aid or does he just read off the first aid book? Does he help you memorize everything in it??

I think I need to just memorize the book at this point because I got all the principles down just haven't memorized every little line which seems necessary for a lot of the questions am doing on UWorld (my average score is 69% at the moment after 700 questions).

So can anyone recommend re-reading first aid myself or listening to DIT? My exam date is on the 28th of Sept. So time is critical, also am hoping to re-read first aid 5 days before the exam. Thanks

A firm grip over concepts of FA is definitely required before you appear for your exam. So you must re read FA if you think you are deficient.

As regards your question about DIT I haven't done all of them but I think DIT guy's review method is quite good. He doesn't add a lot of stuff but a few points which are usually discussed in Kaplan or UW world. He does help you memorize FA.

But in the last month I wouldn't recommend you doing something u haven't done before. There is no substitute for reading from the actual book. Also DIT would also take more than 5 days to finish unless you fast forward through it.

As you have done only 700 UWorld question I would also suggest that you do more UWorld before the exam.

Anyways best of luck for your exams !!!!

I think you're doing quite well though with a UW 69% so you're on the right track. I think at this rate if you write today you'll do over 90 but to solidify your position you should do what the others are saying.

Memorizing as much of FA as possible is in fact the goal supplemented with at least going over 2X everything in UW. If after that you're getting over 550 on an NBME form (ideally forms 4,5,6 or 7) go write it tomorrow :)

I did the DIT to go over FA the first time and I thought he was really good and it was really useful to me to make sure I kept on track and finished FA on time. If you push it you can do DIT in 8 days but you can't do anything else then in that time. I recommend instead since you've done FA once already do the DIT if you have time after you do UW. You can do the remaining 1400 questions on UW in 5-7 days (5 blocks of 46 q's per day) and then FA and then again UW and for the last week tidy up whats left. That my suggestion.

Good luck!

FA, questions, questions, and more questions since you're that close to your test. I seems that you're on a great track, good luck! :)

Hi, did u end up doing DIT? What was your impression? Did it help you on the exam? I am thinking about using DIT as well. Any feedback would be great. Thanks.

Do a block or 2 in the morning, and the rest of the day, read FA. If you finish reading early, keep doing questions until your exam. Take an NBME 5 days before the exam to see where you're standing. If you're not satisfied with your score, you may consider postponing the exam, if possible.

I want to stress on the fact that although memorizing FA is essential for a high score, doing a lot of questions on a regular basis can even be more important. You'll notice that as you started doing questions, you made some very silly mistakes, that you no longer make now. It's because you've developed your test-taking skills by doing many questions. :)
