Can someone pls explain the relation of pseudogout with hemochromotosis?

I saw a Q with a pt having p-gout and an additional work up required a scan for iron overload, and I am not clear on the link there.

cheers

re.

pseudogout is Associated with these Conditions
Hyperparathyroidism
Hemochromatosis
Hypothyroidism
Amyloidosis
Hypomagnesemia
Hypophosphatasia......
they all promote Calcium Pyrophosphate Dihydrate Crystal Deposition(CPPD)
