Hemochromatosis Association with Gout!

Can someone pls explain the relation of pseudogout with hemochromotosis?

I saw a Q with a pt having p-gout and an additional work up required a scan for iron overload, and I am not clear on the link there.

pseudogout is Associated with these Conditions
Hyperparathyroidism
Hemochromatosis
Hypothyroidism
Amyloidosis
Hypomagnesemia
Hypophosphatasia......
they all promote Calcium Pyrophosphate Dihydrate Crystal Deposition(CPPD)
reason behind it i dont know...we just hv to mug up the associated conditions...:)
