Changing USMLE Eligibility Period

You can never change your eligibility period from Jan-March to May-July.
Once an eligibility period is assighned to you, it cannot be changed. The only option you have is to reapply to the exam and pay the whole fees again.

However, what can be done is to extend you eligibility period. Jan-March can be extended to be Jan-June. It's a one time extension and you cannot extend it more later on. The fees for extension are $50.

For more information about eligibility period extension check out this page
https://iwa2.ecfmg.org/epex/epexoverview.asp

Remember however, that your exam appointment within your eligibility period can be changed via Prometric website.

The difference in rescheduling fees with Prometric but for eligibility period extension it's the same.

To know more about how to reschedule your appointment with Prometric check these threads
