USMLE Step 1 Pattern:
It's a computer based exam consisting of multiple choice questions testing your knowledge and understanding of the concepts of clinically-oriented basic medical sciences (Anatomy, Biochemistry, Molecular biology, Cell biology, Genetics, Physiology, Pathology, Microbiology, Immunology, Neuroscience, Behavioral sciences, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Embryology, Histology, and Pharmacology)
How to apply:
You need to register with ECFMG before you can apply. Have a look at this thread

Where can I take the exam?
The USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK exams are administered by Prometric Testing Centers. As far as I know the only Prometric Center in India that administer USMLE exams is available in Hyderabad and here's the address and phone number
