Up to 4 weeks

The ECFMG has announced that this year they expect over 100,000 LoR to be scanned and uploaded.
Therefore, they said you should expect a 4 weeks delay until your documents are uploaded to ERAS.
However, in our and our friends experiences from previous years, this process usually took 2 to 3 weeks maximum.

If you are sending next week then I still think your documents will make it there before September 1st. The ECFMG will double their efforts during the month of August and they'll try their best to scan everybody before September.

However, if in case your documents did not make it there before September 1st then you have the option of reserving LoR slots then wait until it's uploaded.

That said, most PDs will see that you have reserved an LoR but it's not yet scanned. If your other criteria are compelling for them such as your scores, experience, personal statement ....etc then they may say "OK let's wait until the applicant documents get uploaded" but if they are not interested in your other criteria they will likely to skip you :toosad:

Therefore, in your particular case I suggest you wait and don't submit applications to programs until your documents are uploaded because they will be scanned by the first week of September at the most.
