This may be an annoying question, but where did u get yr videos? ppl say buy it on e-bay and some say register with the official kaplan website. How long does the subscription with Kaplan last? What if it takes me 10 months to study? I plan to do step 1 in November plan to finish studying by end of June. then repeat it all in 2 mths while doing UW and NBME as many as I can in that time. While studying I do the Kaplan q.bank immediately when am done with that subject, though I find I still have to refer back to the notes for answers at times. and most of the time (i.e for physiology and anatomy) I only score between 65 and 85%, is that OK for first time reading without doing the UW and NBME and reading kaplan the second time?

Kaplan videos are not mandatory. I know many friends who've done the notes without videos and they scored high.
Your initial Kaplan score of 65 to 85 is fantastic and you don't need to panic about it at all.
Your plan is great and you are doing very good, continue and you will ace the exam.

hello everyone, i am new to this forum and would like seniors and others to help me. i started my usmle prep with kaplan did complete anatomy and half of physio from kaplan notes along with videos. though histo and neuroanat are not that great both in notes as well as video still i did . most of the things were similar in videos and notes.

so my question is

can i do all subject except(patho-goljan)from only videos and not notes as i am planning to repeat videos again n again(n it help me to retain) kind of revision?

though i planning to do kaplan q book n uworld+ nbme.

please who so ever feel like replying give ur honest suggestion as i have already wasted my two years for uk plab because of lack of knowledge. would not like to kill more time.

I don't think watching videos over and over without reading the notes would be a good idea. Videos are best used along with the notes. Videos alone would be passive learning in my opinion. Also, watching videos over and over for 7 subjects would take too long and you will get tired after a while. I think you should watch the videos once or twice(for topics you have trouble with), annotate the important stuff the guy in the video tells you, and that's it. After that, just spend time reading the notes and you will be good to go.

how to complete kaplan video + notes

hello everyone, i am new to this forum and new to usmle, so would like someone to advice on how fast can we finish kaplan video + kaplan notes.i am done with anatomy, physio and doing biochem.

1) in first method i watched video for a particular topic and simultaneously added imp points in notes with this i was able to finsih 25 to 35 pages of kaplan notes/day .... but then i thought its taking more time...
2) so in second try i just went through videos and tried to memorize almost everything from video but then it took way more time than previous one. as then i was able to finish only 15 to 20 pages of kaplan notes/day.

so pls pls can anyone tell me whats the best way to do kaplan note + videos. and on an average how many page of kaplan a normal human being can finish in a day.

Hi!
I have been reading the Kaplan LN and then watching the videos for those chapters that I have troubles with. Depending on how long the chapter is I watch the video after certain sections (Abdo, Pelvis) or if its small chapters then I just do them after each chapter. Technically if you read the chapter first and then do the video most of the stuff are the same and you will js need to add notes for those that you dont understand. So you can watch it at a faster speed (if you use VLC player) and then slow it down when you want... I don't watch the videos for all the chapters.
But no one can say how many pgs you can do in a day. It depends on whether you are a slow/fast reader, what you do that entire day, etc.. Just make a schedule and try to follow it. It's not really about how fast you finish its more about how much you understand.
Good luck!
