I don't have a mnemonic, but the famous two guiding rules get me through most questions correctly:

AR in young children
AD in adults


This is easy to remember by the idea that an AD disease would negatively affect your chances at procreation if it were early onset. A classmate of mine remembers it by AD -> ADult.

AR usually enzymes
AD usually structural


This holds true less than the first rule, but is still pretty high-yield if you just can't remember the genetics. You can remember both rules at once by thinking of the AR enzyme lysosomal storage diseases in young children.

Now the X-linked ones you can do by mnemonic!

can some one please also tell me how to tackle the probability questions on genetics...i cant seem to get them:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Good mnuemonic AD

need a really good mnemonic for aut dominant and autosomal recessive diseases...pleaseeeee:sorry::cool::happy:
Familial Hypertriglyceridemia is Autosomal DOMINANT

Famililal....familial ademtous polyposis..
hypertriglyceridemia
Autosomal.....Adult polyposiskidney

D...Dystrohia myotonia
O...osteogensis imperfecta...O..spherO cytosis
M..Marfans
I...Intermient porphyria....enzyme
N..NF 1
A...Achondroplasia
N..NF 2
T..tuberos sclrosis

If u know Hindi

Vo is von willibrands and hai ...huntigtons, heriditary sphero cytosis

i know this is difficult but it may be use ful :happy:
