A 21-yo man dies suddenly during his track workout. the man had a history of occasional fainting, as does his brother. on autopsy, his heart showed a hypertrophic interventricular septum out of proportion with the rest of the heart. which is the most likely diagnosis?

a. sarcoidosis
b. amyloidosis
c. idiopathic hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
d. hemochromatosis
e. hypertensive heart disease
f. Acute respiratory distress syndrome
