If there's anything that is high yield about the hypothalamus then it's definitely the nuclei what hormones, factors, or functions they have.
There some mnemonics that help us remember these;

There some mnemonics that help us remember these;
- If you lesion the ventromedial nucleus you'll will grow ventromedially (obesity).
- Anterior zone is the A/C, as it cools the body
- Posterior zone causes poikilothermy if lesioned.
- Suprchiasmactic nucleus it related to the optic pathways (the chiasm) and circadian rhythms.
- Supraoptic nucleus secretes the ADH and oxytocin that flows from the "supra" superiorly located hypothalamus down to the posterior pituitary.
