I've just finished NBME 7 with a score of 580. The exam seemed easy, and I expected a higher score, but not all things are as they seem, I guess. However, the questions were clear and fair, unlike many questions I come across in qbanks.

  1. What do you think about NBME 7 in general? I heard it's the hardest, but does it reflect the type of questions in the exam?
  2. My only borderline subject is Anatomy. I find that most of the questions were not from FA, and seemed picky. Is there anything I can do to improve myself in this subject? I especially get questions on fossae, bursae, relations,...etc wrong. my exam is in a week.
  3. I'm dying to know the correct answers for the questions I got wrong (I have the extended explanation, but as you know, it only shows you what questions you got wrong). Is there any source for this?

Thanks.

Well as far as i have heard both forms 6 & 7 are highly recommended..as most of the step 1 takers say that the difficulty of actual exam is comparable to the NBMEs.

Regarding your 2nd question... Anatomy is also my weakest topic.. so can't help u much on this...:eek:..
But the basic principal still holds true... revise FA.. & as u pointed out these topics were not discussed in FA u might consider quick review of selective topics from ur main Anatomy book Kaplan/high yield or whatever u have selected before.

For the correct answers i think u can try the offline NBME form 7...their explanation is not authentic but still gives u an idea..

Where can I find it? I found some answers posted on a forum, but many of them are definitely wrong.

Could you PM me with a link if you don't mind?

hi Haisook,
I have a question;
How many Qs did you miss on NBME 7?
and congrats on your good score!
I got 28 incorrect answers (out of 200 questions).

I had like 6 wrong answers due to changing answers from correct to incorrect :confused: - So, an advice; in general do not change your answer unless you're truly certain it's the correct answer. The first choice that crosses your mind is most likely the correct answer. I think we all already know this, but sometimes there's a strong temptation to change choices :redcheeks; ..
