everyone is always concerned about "up to date" material.. The fact is medicine hasn't really changed at the core level. You have a great base in the Kaplan material, just use the question banks to find the newer relevant stuff. Use
First Aid 2010 edition as well, that will give you an idea of what they have been testing recently.
DONOT DO THIS.... I REFFERED TO OLDER BOOKS AND FAILED ONCE..
iv been a top student in med school. and had a very good grasp on most of the older notes etc...
i did KAPLAN NOTES 2004-5 AND FA 2009 USMLEWORLD 2010 (online)... i found uworld extremely tough.. with many points missing in kaplan notes...
the lectures no doubt are good.. but trust me even the minor things make a difference.. why do u want to take the chance??
even i read on multiple forums.. that medicine doesnt change.. which i agree.. but the greater details... newer advances.. newer ways of asking questions.... is best if you reffer to newer notes.. cos they are written and edited that way!
i gave my exam in december 2010
i spoke to many advisers after the result... and have studied again with the newer material and nbmes are predicting well... please donot commit the same mistake i did. please donot commit the same mistake i did.
DONT TAKE THE RISK!!
