It seems that Kaplan Medical has realized that today's medical students are heavily engaged in digital content. So in order not miss this amazingly fast growing market they decided to attract students by offering FREE ebooks that can be downloaded on Nook, iPad/iPhone, or the Sony eReader!
They even created a website for that, here's the link

Unfortunately, the USMLE books that are provided are only USMLE Step 1 Qbook and USMLE Step 2 CK Qbook. Other titles are not for the USMLE exam. For a complete list of what they offer go to this page: http://www.freekaplanebooks.com/free-kaplan-ebooks/
One thing I noticed in that list, is that they mentioned the availability of the Step 3 White Coat Pocket Guide, but I tried to search of that in my iPhone and I couldn't find it!

This is another sign that USMLE content publishers are moving toward the digital medium as more and more sophisticated students rely on their Smartphones and eBook readers to get ready for the USMLE exam on the go.
