in my opinion FZIO and BEHAVIORAL are must, patho dont follow it.... follow goljan... because i tell u wat dr. barone is a total misguide... he teaches well but he has left many many imp usmle concepts that are frequently asked on boards... goljan z da real saviour in patho...
infact kaplan patho notes are also not very useful... RR goljan z da real buuk on earth u need to do for usmle!!!

doctorF n Yallah

u havent taken the step 1 have u? when are u planning to take it?

n just to confirm again, u're not doing anatomy are u? ive left out micro n immuno since most people have said its useless, but im wondering if i should leave out anatomy. i mean it just seems a little trivial of a subject to spend a whole week watching it. my exam is in september n i plan to finish all studying 2 months before it so for 2 months i can only do FA memorizing n online Qbanks.

what do u think?

n to yallah:
did u find anatomy totally useful? also, did u find the physiology a bit lengthy? he seems to repeat himself too many times. i find myself fwding thru some places but its still pretty loooong. :indifferent: of course i know physiology is important n we MUST watch the videos. but didnt u find it lengthy?

Dah, I'd say (for me) Biochemistry (w. David Seastone) and Pharmacology (Raymon) were the ONLY useful vids. I spend all the summer making myself watching Physio (Kudrath W. likes to tell same jokes over and over and his "Mr.Jones" stories were really annoying), than Pathology (Barone - handsome guy, nice voice... but not enough info). And my overall test performance was around 50-60%...
It is time consuming and not very productive.
I decided to start reading on my own and that works the best for me.

I liked the idea of videos, because I have lazy personality and at the back of the mind I was always looking for the magical formula to take the test or for someone to make all the job for me. Lectures matched this imaginary picture perfectly... Some teacher explaining all the concepts to you... reading for you...:)confused:)

At the end of the day you should go through the material on your own. My days are very short since I have to work, so I do not want to spend time on someone reading and skipping essential concepts for me.

Biochemistry

I think that only the biochemistry video is worth watching and worth the TIME. The videos are painstakingly long and in my opinion, the HOURS I spend watching the videos are better used in reading books. The video on biochemistry did help though, it shed some light on the topics that are difficult to memorize/understand. :indifferent:
