Hey!
i`ve always thought that Kussmaul`s sing is an increase in JVD with inspiration
and it is said so in a couple of explanations in UW
but
whenever UW is talking about Kussmaul`s sing in the setting of constrictive pericarditis, it explains Kussmaul`s sing as lack of decrease or increase in JVP on inspiration (eg q #4133)
so i`m a little but confused now, what is Kussmaul`s sing?

it is what you just said :)
lack of decrease = increase, because normally when we take in breaths you cannot have JVD (JVD decreases)
The lack of decrease of JVD or increase of JVD while doing an inspiration is kussmauls sign, hope I helped!
