I have few questions about observership.

I will apply this year for 2012 match. Can you please tell me, If i do observership in ICU, is it countable in internal medicine?
Beside this, If I do observership from Sept 1 to 30 , or October 1 to 30 ... would it be helpful for my application because someone told me, if I submit my application early in Sept it's better. But if I do observership then, it will be late to submit my application.

Actually I am a bit confused.

Need some advice.

Thank You

Yes you can

Yes, you can.

You can mention in your ERAS application (on September 1st) that you will be starting to do observerships in September/October.

Also you can update your personal statements late in September and in October to reflect your new jobs and that will be updated in your ERAS account and residency programs will see it.

Also if you did not have time to upload the LoRs from that observership in time for early September ERAS application, you can take the LoR with you when you go the interviews in October/November/December and that will really impress those who will interview you.
