The adrenal gland can be divided into 3 parts: the capsule, the adrenal cortex, and the adrenal medulla.
The adrenal cortex is further divided into 3 layers: Zona Glomerulosa, Zona Fasciculata, and Zona Reticulata. (Note GFR mnemonic for layers).

The mnemonic to remember what is produced by each layer is Blood, Sugar, Sex and Magic. So:
1. Zona Glomerulosa = Blood (aldosterone, responds to decreased blood volume)
2. Zona Fasciculata = Sugar (cortisol)
3. Zona Reticulata = Sex (sex hormones eg androgens)
Medulla = Magic (noradrenaline/adrenaline rush)
:p
