The Medical Board of California has been recently releasing posters and letters warning California physicians that allowing international medical graduates in assisting them and providing them "hands-on" clinical training is illegal in the state of California.

What brought their attention to this issue is that they have been seeing letters of recommendations from California physicians saying that an IMG has been assisting in the clinic and has had hands-on experience. They actually used these letters of recommendations as a prove and some physicians have been sued by the medical boards of California.
So dear IMGs,
No more "legal" hands-on experience in the State of California before you are fully licensed.
