Microtia is a congenital deformity in which the ear pinna is underdeveloped and deformed, it can be unilateral or bilateral.

There are many causes during pregnancy that can result in this such as maternal rubella, thalidomide, and familial prediposition.

However, the boards loves this correlation
Use of Isotretinoin (Accutane) early in pregnancy for the treatment of acne has been documented to be one of the causes of microtia.
