Which of the following changes is most likely to be observed in mitochondria following the ingestion of a barbiturate?

A. Decreased activity of α-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase
B. Decreased lactate dehydrogenase activity
C. Decreased levels of hexokinase
D. Decreased levels of NADH
E. Decreased levels of NADPH

A Decreased activity of alpha;-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase
barbiturates inhibit NADH dehydrogenase..so increasing NADH n reduced NAD...
alpha keto glutarate req. NAD for its action....resulting in its decreased activity...
