anyone know if is this correct:

APC pathway -> right sided colon caner
Microsatellite instability -> left sided colon cancer

i keep seeing different things and i am kind of confused. if anybody knows and can explain these plz let me know

I havent come across any text with specific pathways for specific sites. Where did you find that pathway?

As far as I know, CRC = Either it can be

With Familial Polyps
Assoc with APC (ch5q inactivation)
With sequential deletions in
APC > k-ras > p53/DCC (deleted in colon cancer)

or Without polyps - LYNCH Syndrome - DNA MISMATCH REPAIR
M - MSH-2(ch2) MLH-1 (ch3)

Note that there is a smiliar gene - DPC - Deleted in pancreatic cancer. Both these deletions are on CH 18!

Sites > Most common is RECTO SIGMOID
ASCENDING AND DESCENDING
and finally TRANSVERSE AND CECUM.
