The new Health Care Reform has allocated $168M for expansion of primary care residency positions. Primary care specialties include Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Preventative Medicine and Pediatrics.
Program directors can apply for the grant to expand the number of residents they train.

That should be good news for us, residency matching applicants, as there should be more residency positions available in these specialties as early as this year's matching season.
