I believe passing the USMLE is related to your location only to a mild extent. I will give examples only:
1. My friend (also a member of this forum) who was a colleague at a catholic hospital in a village in benue state studied for n passed CK with a score of 99/245 in june 2011. Six months prior to that he passed step 1 with 99/252 while serving at a hospital in adamawa state.
2. My fiancée's elder brother wrote and passed step 1 while in part 4 in LUTH. He matched not long after his graduation.
Everything eventually boils down to your resolve.
