Hi
I am an IMG
Got good scores in USMLE but I am doing only private practice observership as USCE.
Is that enough! I was told that I will never be matched with this type of USCE.

Hi Korean,

yes you will get matched
I know four friends who got only private practice USCE and they were all matched
One of them it was only three weeks!!

Make sure to obtain an excellent Letter of Recommendation

Also it's not advisable to do it with someone from your ethinicty nationality because program directors are versy skeptical about this point and even the ECFMG has issued a letter regarding false letters of recommendations

So be careful

Good luck

Hello steptaker . I talked with 2 doctors of my country , 1 of them MD physical medicine and other MD internal medicine .... Both of them are board certified ... They told me to work with them in their couple of months , they also told me i can talk to patient and finally they said they will give LoR after that ... Now my question is , You told its advisable not to work with some one same ethnicity ... But both of them are from my country , so is it better to work with MD's other than my country... need advice
And i also read false LoR in ECFMG.... actually what it really means ...
Thank You

It's better to have an LoR from a different ethnicity doctor but that does not mean that getting a LoR from the same ethnicity is completely useless.
As for the fals LoR, means falsifying it, means you write it or the attending writes it while in fact you did not attend or observred with that doctor.
It's fraud basically.
If the ECFMG catches you with such a fraud, you will be doomed for the rest of your life in USA.

So is it better if i take their sign while i do work with them ? If i work for 3 months twice weekly with each of them ... does it needed to mention in LoR , for how many hours or days or months i worked with them ?
Does volunteer work in emergency medicine or general medicine is countable ?
Thank You

Yes, take an LoR from them and let them mention the time/period you worked with them because you will need that later on to fill your CV.
Also volunteering in ER and IM is recognized by all as a form of USCE.

Hello step taker , i have 1 thing to know ... As now i am working as a volunteer in family medicine unit , they said i have to do 150 hours / 6 months to get a letter from hospital that i worked in family medicine in-patient care aide ... this month i will finish 150 hours / 6 months ... I know may be its a waste of time , but it helped me to interact with people and to improve my english ..
My questions is When i will put this volunteer work in my ERAS CAF, do i need that letter from the hospital as a proof that i worked there 150 hours in 6 months period ? Or i just quit before 150 hours this month and do observer ship in other hospital as they said to contact with them this week for April session observer ship ?
Thank You
