hello everybody,
I have looked in the internet for statistics comparing number of applicants ( who sat USMLE step 1 and ck ) over a definite period e.g. a year and their scores but I have not found any study about this!
I think it is important for us to know for 2010
1. how many students sat step1?
2. how many got >95 ?
3. how many got 91 to 95? .... etc.

and of those matched, what is the percentage of matching in those getting double > 95 ? 91 to 95 ? ... etc.
what is the percentage of matching of those with USCE of different durations ? and what is the percentage of matching according to year of graduation ?
it will be huge and complex co-relating study but I think it should exist !!

I have just checked 2009 file.. yes it answers some of my questions.. what is really interesting is the importance of USMLE scores for matching of independent applicants! it was the only factor that has linear relation with probability of matching.. however, high scores do not guarantee anything! Non US seniors ( including IMGs ) with the highest possible USMLE scores >260 have only probability of matching of 75 to 80%...
