Hey,
Really, this is very useful forum.
I have very important question,
I have three very strong LoRs since 2008 when I did my electives. I will apply for next Match.
Is old LOR makes it not good letter?
What happen If I send the letters to programs? Will they accept or ignore my letters?

If anyone know some details regarding this issue, please let me know

Thanks a lot.

Why they want updated LoRs ..

There's no rule in the ECFMG or among residency programs that says old LoRs should not be recognized.

Let me explain to you how program directors think and you'll understand this issue.

PDs want to know what you have been doing down to the last few months before you apply. So when you apply next match (September 2011) they will particularly want to know what you have been doing during the year 2011. If your LoR are from 2008, then that's fine, but again they want to know what happened in 2011.

How many 2008 LoRs you have? I suggest you put up a combination of two 2011 LoRs and two 2008 LoRs, that should work.
