the only thing i've learned, for the purpose of the CK, is whenever a pt needs is in pain do not hesistate to give IV morphine, even if the pt is a former IV drug user. Esp for terminal cancer patients, if they are in pain, give IV morphine first. fentanyl patches or patient-controlled analgesia or other stuff can be used for longterm pain management
