You will not be disapointed.

I've taken the pass program, I passed step 1, and now using them for step 2.

do yourself a favour and get them.
and buy the book on lulu.com (only available there)

Are you telling me that you paid $4000 for the pass program or $3000 for Dr. Francis videos

I went and did the live lecture.

4000 was well worth it.

get the videos they are on the net if you want.

I'm a firm believer in rewarding someone who can show me the way. Dr. Francis helped me.

I agree with Peewee - they are a good course and their material is top notch. It costs a lot more than $4000 to mess up the step1
If you could please advise on the structure of this course, it would be greatly helpful. It seems that with the 8 week course you have more one-on-one tutoring.....how is this structured and how would you rate it in helping you succeed?

Well, they are probably going to do a better job explaining the structure of the course if you contact them directly, but what I like about Pass is that if your basic concepts are weak the program is very good at taking an idea and tying it to many different aspects of medicine - which is how the USMLE tests you...

My suggestion is that if you're going to do 8 weeks onsite - also do a qbank and NBMEs to make sure you really understand. I always also suggest you get the legal, paid version of everything you use - thats what I meant. The 8 weeks might or might not work for you, but I guarantee you that using a paid program will ensure you have the latest material and also access to the instructors for clarification and questions.

No Becky - Pass for me is purely conceptual and not useful at all for last minute exam prep - thats my opinion. It's a good program to get you started, but if your exam's in 14 days then now's not a good time to learn concepts. If your concepts were weak they would show up in your NBME scores and if they aren't showing up there Pass can't help you. You need to do First Aid and/or Medessentials for quick review and Questions Questions Questions. The more time you have do the qbanks again and again... or keep repeating and memorizing stuff you're likely to forget easily...

See the way I look at Pass is - you have to be the kind of student that doesn't understand a whole topic - like Immunology or Neuro or Biochem - something like that - you can't be darn - I should have looked up the mechanism of H2 receptor signalling or I forgot the association between Celliac and Dermatitis Herpeteformis. If you often look at questions and wonder what on earth they are talking about then fine - do Pass - but I'd postpone your exam depending on your NBME score. If you just can't make that last connection required to get the answer (which was my problem) then qbanks help...

Good luck! Please either send me a message or write up how it goes for you here... As always, this is just my opinion... :) Let me know if you disagree :)

No problem- I didn't attend the onsite program, but for the online program I'd just use the pass notes along with my own school books.

For Step prep, I also used the Kaplan onsite program, books and Qbank, First Aid, UW and Rapid review pathology and High Yield Neuro. I used Kaplan less than i should have, but they were the single most useful source in my opinion. If you know enough Neuro, you can get by with just Kaplan resources and FA. I wish I'd been more prepared before actually taking the Kaplan course, but nevertheless it was very useful.

Also, I used Kaplan Qbank, USMLE Consult and USMLE World. Kaplan and UW were equally good. Consult was a great qbank addition - I completed about 33% of it and I learned a few additional things from it.

I also used First Aid and MedEssentials to round out my game. As soon as I know how it all worked out, I'll write it up...

Hope that helps!

I think if you listen to them once that should be enough - you can go through it one more time - but I wouldn't if I were in your shoes - if you PM me your scores / plan I can give you a better idea of what might work in your case, but generally speaking if I had 14 days left I'd just do questions and First Aid.
