You have to change it

You have to either change your name in the password or in the diploma.

You have to unify all your names. They will not accept your registration for such a spelling difference.

I guess that changing the name in the Diploma is probably easier than changing it in the passport. All you need to do is contact your medical school and ask them to change your name.

What name did you use with the ECFMG when you first registered? Is it the passport or the diploma name?

Thanks for help

Thanks a lot sabio!!

For getting USMLE/ECFMG ID i wrote passport name and they sent me ID/password within a week.

But i have another query about the section of (changing or verifying your name)in ECFMG website regardiong this part

If the name in your ECFMG record is correct but this name does not match exactly your name as listed on your medical diploma, transcript, or other credential, you must verify that the name on these documents is (or was) your name. To verify your name, send to ECFMG a photocopy of one of the acceptable documents listed
These documents may include:
  • Passport (including the pages with your photograph and the expiration date)
  • Birth certificate
  • Marriage certificate
  • Official court order
  • U.S. Resident Alien Card
  • U.S. Naturalization Certificate
As an alternative to one of the documents listed above, ECFMG will accept for purposes of verifying your name a letter from the Dean, Vice Dean, or Registrar of your medical school that verifies that the name on your medical diploma, transcript, or other credential is (or was) your name. If you choose to submit a letter from your medical school to verify the name on your medical diploma, transcript, or other credential, the letter must be signed by the Dean, Vice Dean, or Registrar. The letter you submit must be written on your medical school's letterhead. The letter must include the following statement:
This certifies that the names [name on document] and [name in ECFMG record] belong to one and the same person.

So could i send a letter from my college Dean with additional documents is does work? OR should i call to ECFMG ?
OR that,s not enough and may cause a problem in future?:toosad:
:sorry: i bother u, but i mean i have only one save option to must change my name on diploma and other credential.
Thanks

Yes, you can but ..

Yes definitely that's an option.

But is it the problem with the Diploma name only! If it is the Diploma name only then I think getting a new Diploma produced in the correct spelling is a better option for you. This is of course if you haven't sent already the Diploma with the mis-spelled name.

The ECFMG is famous for prolonged and complicated correspondence issues and you don't want to complicate matter further with them.

The safest way that I can see is to ask you medical school to produce a new Diploma with the correct spelling.

By the way don't forget that your name should also match on the transcript also not only the Diploma.
