How do they score the patient note? do they give equal score to history, physical, ddx, and work up?

PN is the only document in the whole of this exam , that is evaluated by a physician, so has to be given utmost importance, yes all sections are given equal importance , so it has to be organized ,inclusive and well structured... it should be written in a way that your thought process should reflect from each section, It should be informative yet precise... good luck for exam

It's not fully clear how they score the PN but it is mostly agreed that each of the four sections carries equal weight.
Therefore, one trick is to jot down the differential diagnosis and work up plan before writing the history and physicals so that you ensure half the mark in case you ran out of time as those takes less than two minutes while history and physicals take considerably longer to write.

Thanks, this will help if you run short of time. :)

I was wondering if time remaining from your patient encounter adds to the allotted time for the patient note (10min)?

FA 4th edition says that the left overtime will add to ur PN time but I am unsure if there have been any changes for year 2013.

Anyone that wrote it this year can clarify this?

thanks in advance

Yes, you can add on your saved time from encounter to your patient note, which I did, it really helps, especially slow typers will benefit from it:)
