Post Operative Fever Mnemonic

I found it very difficult to memorize the sequence of post operative fever causes.

So I came up with this mnemonic

After Playing Unprotected Darlings Wish Pregnancy

The phrase means that women are looking for pregnancy if they engage in unprotected sexual encounters.

A = Atelectasis; Day one postop
P = Pneumonia; Day three postop
U = UTI; Day three postop
D = Deep thrombophlebitis; Day five postop
W = Wound infection; Day seven postop
P = Pus, abscesses; Around two weeks postop

I like it

This is even better than the Kaplan's mnemonic which mentioned the 4Ws
Wind (atlectasis) Water (urine) Walking (leg veins) and Wound.
Bravo
5th W

You forgot the 5th W
Which is What ever drugs you gave to your patient .
That's important too
